Have you ever stopped to consider why our society has had an explosion in the Vitamin Supplement Industry? Have you noticed the ever-expanding rows of supplements available in your local chemist? Is it something lacking in our diet? Or, more fundamentally, something missing in our food? Could it be that we have lost the nutritional value in the food we consume?

This is not about eating junk food, but the core nutritional value of the “real food” we consume.

The CSIRO conducted a study THE DIMINISHING NUTRITIONAL VALUES OF AUSTRALIAN GROWN FRUIT AND VEGETABLES. Comparison between 1948 and 1991.

The results clearly showed that the vitamin & mineral content of our food has remarkably diminished.

The soil has literally been drained of its mineral content and replaced with “heroin for pasture” “fast fix” farming using Super-phosphate and Urea to provide fast growing, aesthetically pleasing crops.
In addition, meat animals can be fed growth hormones and finished in grain feed lots to produce a larger animal and subsequently more product. The animals grow significantly larger because they have continuous access to high energy grain, are circulating growth hormones in their bloodstream and are unable to expend energy as they are restricted in small feeding yards.
In addition, they require chemical injections to manage the intestinal and respiratory diseases they acquire from eating and defecating in the same restricted area.
The move to sustainable agricultural practices is now well advanced and has momentum driven by consumer demand for better food quality and health.
