Port Politicians Pinch Poll Position

It was a damp track at the 70th Camden Haven Show at Kendall last Saturday when local pollies took poll position in the “Great Esky Race”

Port Macquarie Mayor Peta Pinson

Port Macquarie Councillor Sharon Griffiths

Federal Member of Parliament Dr David Gillespie

State Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary for Regional & Rural Health Leslie Williams

Were challenged by the team from Regional & Rural Realty – Wide Span Sheds

When Graeme Beeforth from Regional & Rural threw down the Gauntlet

On the Blue Esky and starting from poll (pole) position, the Mayor and Ministers (soon to be known as the M&M’s) flew off the starting grid.

Though the hay bale chicanes the RRR Wide Span Shedders were in hot pursuit.

It was neck and neck until the M&M’s pulled away mid race.

Coming out of the Clubhouse turn it was over and out for the Sheders who were shredded by the M&M’s.

Cries of “You Get in the Bowl” rang out from hecklers in the grandstand.

Camden Haven Showground Manager Sean Gleeson declared Line Honour’s awarded to the M&M’s.

It was clear that the politicians had some early advantage with traction from their prestige polling position.

A rematch is scheduled for the next Camden Haven Show in 2019.

The Camden Haven Show was a Great Success and ushered in a change of season with welcome Spring rain. Congratulations to Camden Haven Show Society President Sean Gleeson and all the organising team who once again delivered a great weekend of activity at the show.
